ON THE RUN
A paradox: the match in game decided by a matter of seconds and endless hours waiting for a plane that never comes. Since I am a very active person I always have something to do and I cannot spend long hours idle and idle. The worst of a trip is having to remain long hours at airports, especially when there are no direct links or your flight is delayed .... endless hours awaiting for a plane that never comes.
Before and after the glamour the game may offer, sometimes there are hours and hours of travel delays, impersonal airports ....
No time to relax. Always with your travelling bag and your passport ready. Hotels, airports and courts.
Travelling you learn to know the people: the situations are sometimes so different compared to daily life that your colleagues' different reactions may reveal their true personality and human quality. An anecdote: last July I was in New York, at the T-1 in JFK airport -photo above-, when all of a sudden an anonymous caller warned of a bomb. We were all evacuated at 10 pm, security guards caused panic among the passengers, they were shouting as if we were about being burnt with a flamethrower. Travellers were running, screaming, crying. I was relaying everything on Twitter. Then a journalist recognised me and interviewed me in Spanish. 3 hours later everything was the same .... Eventually the crisis passed, I flew to Belgrade arriving at 5 pm next day. Home sweet home, at last ... but without any luggage!
